Brina is our 7 year old cat and we found out tonight that she is going to need surgery. She is like family to us and if you have a pet you know how I am feeling right now. We found out the surgery will cost us a little over 2,000 dollars and that is after our pet deductible! UPDATE ON BRINA: She had surgery on Monday and the vet pulled out a massive hairball out that was affecting her liver.

12/30/08 AM: She couldn't even raise her head up she was so weak, she didn't look good at all. I was worried. I went to see her after I got off of work the same day and she had gotten a little stronger, she could move her head and she hissed at the girl who was trying to feed her! GOOD SIGN! I got to hold her while the nurse cleaned out her cage. She was purring.

12/31/08 AM: I called up the vet and she said that they were able to feed Brina a half a can of food and that she was moving around more. I am so happy! I will be going to visit her soon and I will keep you up to date!

1/1/09: I did not get to see Brina today. The vet was closed because of the Holiday.

1/2/09 AM: Went into the vet to see her before work and the vet said that she thought that Brina should go home and see if she would start to eat more there. After work I picked her up and as soon as we walked in the door she started meowing. She knew she was home and she is happy here. She has a hard time walking on her back legs because of the stitches. She isn't eating on her own yet but I am hoping through the night she will get more comfortable and start to eat on her own.
