Rose Tyler, a shop girl from London, stumbles across a mysterious individual called The Doctor. She tries to help as he seeks out the Nestene Consciousness, an alien who is controlling living plastic in an attempt to take over the world.

In this clip:

The Doctor is looking for the Nestene Consciousness. He gets out of the TARDIS and wonders aloud that the transmitter to control that much plastic has to be huge, massive and round. Rose looks at the Doctor and points past him. After a few puzzled glances the Doctor looks over his shoulder and there stands the London Eye. They run hand in hand across the bridge.

 

The End of the World 1×2

The Ninth Doctor takes his new companion, Rose, on her first trip through time: 5 billion years into the future. There, on a space station called Platform One, he and Rose are on hand with a group of alien races to witness the Sun expand and swallow the Earth. However, someone is planning to sabotage the event with deadly robotic spiders.

In this clip the Lady Cassanadra O'Brian claims to be the last living human being from Earth, even though she is just a piece of stretched out skin with eyes and a mouth. Mounted on a frame and connected to a jar with her brain in it, her skin constantly needs to be moisturized by her attendants. After the other Aliens have given their gifts to the farewell of the Earth Cassandra gives her own gifts from ancient Earth: the last ostrich egg (she states that the ostrich was known to spit fire). She also gives what she says is an "iPod" but is actually an jukebox…

 

The Unquiet Dead 1×3

The Ninth Doctor and Rose arrive in Cardiff on Christmas Eve, 1869 and discover that something is making the dead come back to life. The time travelers team up with a world-weary Charles Dickens to investigate Gabriel Sneed, the local undertaker and his servant girl Gwyneth — and come face to face with the ghostly Gelth.

The Doctor sums up that Gwyneth's abilities stem from the fact that she grew up in a house over the rift. He tells her that she is the key and they should hold a séance. As they are sitting around the table Gwyneth manages to summon the aliens that speak through her named the Gelth…

 

Aliens of London 1×4

The Ninth Doctor takes Rose back to 21st century London, just in time to witness a spaceship crashing into the River Thames, triggering a worldwide state of alert and the closing off of the city. As the Doctor investigates the survivor of the crash, Rose finds problems closer to home.

In this clip Rose and the Doctor are sitting on the roof of her tower block, where she is telling the Doctor how frustrating it is not being able to tell her mother of the things she has seen with him because she just wouldn't understand. She can't tell anyone on Earth because they don't know that there are aliens and spaceships. Just as she is expressing this a massive cruiser-like spaceship roars overhead…
